Mike W. Laphen
Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Laphen is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Computer Sciences Corporation. He was appointed chairman on July 30, 2007, and was elected to the position of chief executive officer on May 21, 2007. Earlier in 2007, he was elected to the board of directors of the company. Beginning April 1, 2003, Mr. Laphen was the company's president and chief operating office responsible for the effective execution of CSC's business plan and for ensuring operational excellence in the delivery of services to clients around the globe.

Mr. Laphen joined the company in 1977 and has held a number of senior positions that have provided a comprehensive mix of technical, financial and general management experiences in diverse commercial, public sector, and international markets. Most recently, he served as the chief executive of CSC's European Group from 2000 to 2003. Prior to his European assignment, Mr. Laphen served as president of the company's Federal Sector -- Civil Group where he was responsible for all CSC business with the United States Federal government civil agencies. Earlier, as president of CSC's Integrated Systems Division, in Moorestown, NJ, Mr. Laphen led CSC's activities in providing large-scale systems integration, systems engineering and software development projects to the aerospace and defense markets.

Mr. Laphen earned his bachelor's degree in business from Pennsylvania State University and an MBA degree from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Laphen served in the United States Air Force and the Pennsylvania Air National Guard. He is a member of the Information Technology Association of America (ITAA), Armed Forces Communications and Electronics Association (AFCEA) and National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA).
