CSC INTRODUCES WORLDBRIDGE SERVICE TO MANAGE UK VISA APPLICATION PROCESS
News Release -- July 10, 2007
Visa Application Centers Launch in Germany to Provide Comprehensive Information ServicesEL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 10 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced WorldBridge, a new service that will provide UK visa applicants with comprehensive visa and immigration information and assistance.
WorldBridge will establish Visa Application Centers (VACs) in 15 countries throughout Europe, the Americas and North Africa & Middle East, and will provide information services through the Internet, email and multilingual call centers to an additional 87 countries. Responsibility for deciding the outcome of each visa application and the issuing of visas will remain with the British Diplomatic Mission.
The first German VAC has opened in Dusseldorf, and two Micro-VACs have opened in Berlin and Munich. All applicants for a UK visa must now apply in person through the VAC or Micro-VACs. Micro-VACs are locations at which applicants may provide their biometric data after having first completed their application online at www.visa4uk.fco.gov.uk. Applicants may now submit their applications, provide their biometric data and seek general immigration information at the VACs.
“Building on CSC’s experience of delivering transformational services to the public sector globally and specifically through our UKvisas service, we look forward to helping UKvisas achieve desired business results and benefits of the new service to citizens across Germany,” said Guy Hains, president of CSC’s European Group.
Changes and improvements to the UK visa application process are part of the UK’s Managed Migration Strategy and Global Commercial Partnership Programme. CSC announced a business process outsourcing contract with UKvisas in late February 2007 through which CSC will provide visa services for the UK around the world. For more information on UKvisas and the program, visit www.ukvisas.gov.uk.
