Sydney-based QBE is among the top 20 general insurance and reinsurance companies in the world, with more than 17,000 employees in 43 countries. Following a series of acquisitions, the company has increased its focus on growing in key global insurance markets, looking to double its business in the Asia Pacific region.
Achieving that kind of ambitious growth in today’s quickly evolving market requires an insurance company to modernize its systems, says John Brisco, chief operating officer Latin America, CIO Emerging Markets, QBE Insurance. “Mobile is here, big data is here and the way a customer expects to be serviced by insurers will change dramatically. Insurers have to respond to this,” Brisco says.

The operational success doesn’t stop there. Brisco says that going forward, “This gives us great confidence as we seek to roll out the platform to additional countries in the future and also build new products and functionality over the course of the next year.”
