Zurich and CSC Win Award for Outsourcing Best Practices
The National Outsourcing Association (NOA) awarded the 2014 International Contract of the Year to Zurich Insurance Group (Zurich) and CSC. Zurich is a leading multi-line insurer that serves its customers in global and local markets. With more than 55,000 employees, Zurich provides a wide range of general insurance and life insurance products and services. Zurich serves individuals, small businesses, and mid-sized and large companies, including multinational corporations, in more than 170 countries.
In 2009, Zurich and CSC signed a 10.5-year global outsourcing agreement, covering Zurich’s data centers and IT infrastructure managed services in 9 countries. Through this agreement, Zurich and CSC have transformed Zurich’s IT infrastructure and data center environment through a major IT modernization program. Recognized as one of the insurance industry’s largest IT infrastructure transformations, this project has dramatically improved system stability and performance while helping Zurich realize double-digit software and hardware cost savings.
This cooperation is built on strong governance and leadership. A joint Zurich-CSC steering committee provides strategic oversight of all aspects of the IT transformation and is based on a clearly defined framework for collaboration and communication to achieve shared outcomes.
For these reasons and others, the Zurich-CSC cooperation was honored by the National Outsourcing Association with the organization’s 2014 International Contract of the Year Award. For more information on the award and the Zurich CSC cooperation, download the full report from the NOA.
