Distinguished Architect - Graham Chastney
“There is a massive explosion in capability right now in the workplace and that’s going to accelerate. The ones who work out how to exploit it will be the winners.” -- Graham Chastney
Graham Chastney is a solution architect for CSC’s Global Infrastructure Services business unit in the United Kingdom. With over 30 years of experience in information technologies, Graham is highly skilled in the delivery of infrastructure services and is regarded as a subject matter expert in workplace offerings.
Graham’s deep technical knowledge helps him quickly assimilate solutions and identify potential problems, especially in delivery assurance and solution reviews. He has the soft skills needed to gain the confidence of those working in the environment being reviewed, and to communicate with stakeholders including customers.
Over the last three years, Graham has been a member of CSC’s Solution Governance organization, now part of the Office of the CTO in the UK&I region, where he provides strategic direction for large-scale solutions. As a member of the Solution Strategy Practice he has worked across the Build-Sell-Deliver life cycle, aligning solutions to current patterns and facilitating innovative architecture patterns to meet client needs. This is a global role across all offerings and all industries, which gives him a unique position to influence innovation across domains.
To overcome the challenge of application updates in a live environment, Graham developed an approach using virtual application delivery that enables applications to be delivered to, and removed from, a device without affecting the configuration of the device operating environment. This significantly reduces the risk of deployment and, as a result, increases flexibility.
Graham regards mentoring and coaching as a key part of his role as a lead technologist. He is the founder of the CSC Technology Perspectives blog, where Graham and other CSC experts share their perspectives on technical matters and CSC's thinking in particular areas.
