Distinguished Architect - Ged Cunliffe
“I see the continued drive to services that are smart and connected, are fully or partially autonomous, and exist in both a digital and physical world. Software-enabled products and services that can be upgraded remotely will proliferate. In this new paradigm security and trust will be critical services. Businesses will need to be agile to adapt swiftly to market shifts, innovate their services, maintain an ecosystem of partners, and put their customers’ experience front and center.” -- Ged Cunliffe
Ged Cunliffe is the industry chief architect for CSC’s UK manufacturing business. With over 30 years of experience, he has directed and delivered solutions for clients in aerospace, defense and manufacturing. He has a passion for technology that encourages him to uncover new and emerging technologies and introduce them to CSC and its clients.
Ged is recognized for his work to provision innovation programs, the thought leadership he has shared on numerous strategies, and the projects and requests for input he has received as a trusted advisor.
He regularly presents new concepts to businesses and was recently invited to present at an aerospace and defense client business conference with over 400 attendees. Ged was the only outside speaker. He gave a keynote speech on digital disruption and the implications for the industry.
Ged has developed and promoted a method for baselining client enterprise architectures and roadmaps across CSC’s global client base. One of the deliverables from that is used in the UK today in the form of a white space analysis tool.
Ged’s interest in concepts such as the digital twin with augmented reality, virtual reality and the Internet of Things, combined with the movement to model-based systems engineering, challenges him to consider how technologies can be applied to solve the most complex problems, and how to find new ways of working using technology secured with new systems design methods and tools.
In 2015 Ged received the CSC Horizon Award, which honors those who make exceptional contributions to current and future company success and are identified as next-generation infrastructure and technology services leaders.
