CSC LICENSES AUTOMATED WORK DISTRIBUTOR TO PACIFIC LIFE

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 7 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Pacific Life Insurance Company’s Life Insurance Division has licensed Automated Work Distributor (AWD). By eliminating manual tracking systems and paper-based processes, the AWD software will help Pacific Life improve service, reduce processing times and make more information available in real time to support customer service representatives.

Pacific Life, which will integrate AWD with its existing third-party imaging system, will use AWD to streamline business processes in such areas as policy service, disbursements, customer service and claims. Approximately 250 claims and customer service specialists at Pacific Life will use AWD at its California and Nebraska operation centers.

“We reviewed several vendors in our search for process improvement technology, including our current imaging system provider, but AWD best matched our needs,” said Cameron Cosgrove, chief information officer of the Life Insurance Division of Pacific Life Insurance Company. “AWD will let us more efficiently distribute our workload across our multiple locations.”

“We welcome Pacific Life to our AWD family of clients and are eager to help them achieve significant improvements in productivity and quality,” said Michael W. Risley, president of the Life and Annuity Division of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “Our more than 30-year relationship with Pacific Life is built on CSC’s track record of going beyond deploying technology for technology’s sake to applying technology in ways that deliver real business results.”

AWD provides workflow automation, document management, imaging, Internet support and customer contact management. Approximately 80,000 users in the United States rely on AWD to reduce costs, enhance customer service and increase productivity. AWD is a product of DST Technologies Inc. CSC, which is the exclusive distributor of AWD to the insurance industry, provides project management, business reengineering and information technology (IT) services for its clients’ AWD implementations.
