CSC SIGNS SERVICES CONTRACT WITH CHUBB

Deal Follows Successful Collaborative Effort Between the Companies

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 1 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that The Chubb Corporation (NYSE: CB) has signed a 10-year contract for CSC’s property and casualty (P&C) insurance business process outsourcing (BPO) services.

Chubb, a CSC software and services client since 1997, used CSC’s BPO services and POINT IN policy administration system to launch specialized insurance rating, quoting and policy issuance for workers’ compensation in 50 states and the District of Columbia in 120 days. This enabled Chubb to capitalize on a time-sensitive business opportunity in a new niche market.

Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide related ongoing BPO services, including document imaging, independent bureau and National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) reporting, and business intelligence and management reports. Other lines of insurance business will also be stored on POINT IN for future data mining and reporting.

“CSC’s BPO services, systems and industry expertise helped us respond to a significant growth opportunity and bring it to market in record time,” said T. Todd Ellis, senior vice president, Chubb & Son, and Systems & Process manager for Chubb Commercial Insurance. “CSC’s services let us concentrate on existing business priorities while staying agile in the marketplace.”

“Chubb and CSC have built a foundation and governance model that will allow quick response to new market opportunities and lines of business as we continually drive process innovation,” said Jim Cook, president of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “Supplying these capabilities so quickly proves CSC can deliver business results, even in challenging situations.”

More than $2.5 billion in insurance premiums and 1.5 million insurance policies are processed and supported by CSC’s P&C business process outsourcing team. CSC’s BPO services provide full insurance operations support and are designed to help insurers get to market quickly while allowing them to focus on the core business of launching new products, finding new opportunities and managing underwriting risk.
