INSURERS AND SELF-INSURED ORGANIZATIONS HONORED FOR INNOVATION AND LEADERSHIP AT CSC CONNECT
Eight Companies Receive Awards At 2005 Conference
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Dec. 6 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that eight insurers and self-insured organizations received awards for software innovation and leadership at its CSC Connect 2005 conference.
Award winners include Ohio Mutual Insurance, COUNTRY Insurance & Financial Services, A.I.M. Mutual Insurance, American Auto Club Insurance Agency, The Progressive Group of Insurance Companies, Baystate Health Systems, The Horace Mann Companies and another leading U.S.-based insurer. The nearly 900 property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry and risk management professionals who attended the conference chose the award winners from 26 nominees.
Companies that received CSC’s Innovation Community Award, which recognizes software enhancement projects that benefit both the individual company and the entire user community, include:
- Ohio Mutual Insurance, which implemented a new system that allows its agents to print final insurance policies, including declaration pages, and ID cards when the policy is sold. This new capability eliminates the need for the home office to mail the policy documents.
- COUNTRY Insurance & Financial Services, which automated a breakdown of account billing history, including premium information, and all changes and payments made to an account during a defined period. The enhancement has cut the time to provide information to agents and customers from two days to two hours.
- A.I.M. Mutual Insurance, which worked with CSC to add the capability to print all endorsement forms directly from CSC’s PABBLO software, eliminating time and errors associated with manually typing endorsement information.
- One of the largest U.S.-based investment and insurance companies, which added new customer relationship management capabilities to CSC’s Exceed, the leading policy administration system for P&C insurers. The enhancements allow call-center personnel to create, update and view all client contact history, account information and open projects for an entire household while the caller is on the phone.
- American Auto Club Insurance Agency, which developed an analysis tool that provides instant trending and regional comparisons of loss ratios and other indicators, with the ability to track improvement of the entire P&C book of business over time.
- Progressive Insurance, which initiated enhancements to CSC’s Exceed Billing component that automate the process of turning over unpaid, earned premiums to outside collection agencies and eliminate billing errors associated with third-party collections.
- Baystate Health, which joined with CSC to develop multiple modules to manage workers’ compensation, long-term disability and Family Medical Leave Act programs, and provide robust online financial and statistical reports to managers and stakeholders. An ergonomics and utilization review module was also created to help employers effectively manage risk within their organizations.
- The Horace Mann Companies, which worked with CSC to develop Claims Desktop, a Web-based system designed to integrate multiple claim functions and tools into a single application for claims professionals.
