CSC POWERS AVIVA ANNUITY LAUNCH

Most Successful Product in Aviva’s Agency Sales Channel Runs on CSC’s VANTAGE-ONE Software

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 14 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that its VANTAGE-ONE life insurance and annuity administration software has enabled Aviva Life Insurance Company to create the most successful product launch in the history of its agency sales channel. Aviva’s new fixed indexed annuity (FIA), called the Aviva Progressive Index Annuity, achieved outstanding premium production in its first six weeks of availability.

Used by 15 of the top 20 life insurers in the United States, VANTAGE-ONE is a comprehensive administration system supporting group and individual, qualified and non-qualified, and fixed and variable life and annuity products. The software, which has an open architecture that provides flexibility in creating and administering annuities, also allows users to easily customize and update product features to handle new regulatory requirements — a significant challenge with complex products like FIAs. As a result, VANTAGE-ONE supports more FIAs than all competing systems combined.

The software’s flexible, rule-driven product-definition capabilities and support for a broad range of features were instrumental in the creation and maintenance of Aviva’s FIA. A key feature is distribution and incentive compensation management, which allows Aviva to market the FIA to agents in its sales channel with competitive and variable commissions.

“We were able to rapidly launch our popular fixed-index annuity due in part to the features supported by VANTAGE-ONE and the assistance of the CSC team,” said Kathy Veracka, assistant vice president of IT Enterprise Systems, Aviva Life Insurance Company. “CSC’s technology also allowed us to create a more competitive product which led to breakthrough sales results.”

“Aviva has created and managed its annuity products using CSC software for more than 15 years,” said Michael W. Risley, president of the Life and Annuities division of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “Our experience in creating successful financial products has delivered significant business results to Aviva.”
