Command and Control
Open to the Future — Today
Today military and civil command and control is performed locally and globally over open, nonproprietary systems on assured, secure networks. C2 of the future will leverage this global network to power a revolution in which information and communications technology will shift C2 functions to horizontal and networked activities while vertical integration focuses on decision impacts.
Command and control (C2) systems must deliver situational awareness and decision support tools to effectively direct operations around the globe. Current “stovepiped” solutions are too restrictive to meet increasingly complex missions or provide decision-makers the power of true net-centricity.
CSC helps our customers overcome these C2 challenges and achieve decisive effect by delivering mission-focused command and control solutions that are cost-effective and rapidly deployable. Our open-architecture solutions, integrated with existing systems and capabilities solve our customers’ toughest C2 challenges today, yet can be easily adapted to tomorrow’s requirements and technologies.

Practical Application of Technology
Whether you’re developing enterprise-ready C2 solutions to meet new requirements or inserting fresh technologies and capabilities into existing systems to make them better, our goal is always the same: to deliver high-impact solutions that are both inventive and practical.
Drawing on more than 35 years of command and control experience, CSC provides the systems engineering and integration needed to open existing systems and make them work better together. And since we are not tied to any specific market solution or product, we are able to leverage all leading-edge federal, defense and commercial technologies. By integrating these best-of-breed technologies into existing systems, we can provide improved secure, end-to-end C2 solutions that are agile, economical and quickly deployed.
CSC command and control solutions deliver the situational awareness and analysis needed to efficiently direct global forces and resources. As a result, decision makers receive the actionable information they need to make effective decisions and plans to establish operational dominance, marshal valuable assets and control consequences.
Open to the Future
Next-generation C2 solutions must embrace network-centric interoperability in order to provide the instant information, data and command direction vital to military, homeland security, law enforcement and emergency management missions. At CSC we’re committed to helping our customers meet these future requirements by developing solutions that are open and meet government enterprise-architecture standards. By taking advantage of tools such as Web Services and service-oriented architecture (SOA), we are able create collaborative C2 systems that can be easily enhanced and updated.
Complementing our future-ready system architecture is our vision for the C2 systems of tomorrow. This is perhaps best exemplified by our Command and Control Center of Excellence. This hotbed of innovation and thought leadership allows us to explore emerging trends, leverage government and commercial best practices, and develop and test state-of-the-art C2 solutions.
Demonstrated Success
CSC proven solutions are meeting critical C2 mission requirements throughout the military and civil government. Examples include:- Aegis Weapon System. CSC has been providing battle-proven command and control software for the U.S. Navy since 1970.
- SureTrak. This powerful battle space control tool that integrates and displays tracking data from a wide rage of sensors.
- Battle Command Battle Lab. We are working with the BCBL on a software development kit that will dramatically improve the interoperability of disparate C4I systems.
