The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) awarded Computer Sciences Corporation the Director’s Award for Excellence in Small Business Utilization on November 4, 2004 in Washington, DC. The honor recognized CSC for awarding 99.2% of its subcontracting dollars to small businesses in fiscal year 2003 in support of EPA contracts.

The EPA has established rigorous small business goals for its prime contractors, far exceeding the government wide goals; however, CSC has proven diligent in its efforts to utilize small businesses in its contracting efforts.

The CSC Supplier Diversity Program performs outreach and advocacy for small businesses and educates suppliers on CSC’s procurement process. CSC Supplier Diversity Managers and Coordinators network with and support community, government and business organizations that provide assistance to small and diverse businesses. The program also provides a web page for small and diverse suppliers to become familiar with CSC’s Supplier Diversity Program and to complete a supplier profile at http://www.csc.com/aboutus/supplierdiversity.shtml. The supplier profiles populate a database that provides supplier information such as core competencies and past performance data.
