News Release -- July 25, 2002

CSC TO PROVIDE INFORMATION SECURITY SUPPORT TO FAA

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., July 25, 2002 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) has been awarded a contract to support information security throughout the Federal Aviation Administration under a $10 million, two-and-half-year agreement with the agency’s Office of Information Systems Security (AIS).

CSC will support the FAA’s planning, integration, coordination and implementation of information systems security throughout the agency. The agreement is part of the FAA’s ongoing effort to improve the security of systems comprising the National Airspace System, which supports air traffic control across the country.

“We bring thirty years of experience with the FAA’s information systems to this program,” said Harry Part, vice president of CSC's Transportation Systems center. “We are pleased to have been chosen to help ensure protection of information critical to commerce and the safety of the flying public.”

CSC security engineers from the company’s Global Information Security Services (GISS) business unit will perform the work called for in the contract at FAA locations nationwide.

“New threats to information systems increase our national exposure to loss of life, property and infrastructure,” said Joe Stafford, vice president of CSC’s GISS unit. “CSC will tap its global expertise and decades of experience in information security to help the FAA mitigate that risk.”

As part of the U.S. Department of Transportation, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the element of the U.S. government with primary responsibility for the safety of civil aviation. AIS is responsible for policy and the planning, integration, coordination and implementation of information security throughout the FAA.
