CSC RECOGNIZED BY ACORD STANDARDS ORGANIZATION

CSC Receives Four ACORD Awards for Use of Standards-based Technology

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 25 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has won four awards for its use of standards-based technology to improve bottom-line business value for its clients. In ceremonies held May 22 at the ACORD LOMA Insurance Systems Forum 2005 in Orlando, Fla., CSC received three ACORD Accomplishment Awards: an Industry Leadership for Straight-Through Processing Award, an Early Adopter Award and a Business Integration Award. In addition, CSC received a Certification Award for synchronizing 22 transactions in CSC's packaged software applications with the latest releases of ACORD standards.

“CSC is a long-standing member in the implementation, certification and enhancement of ACORD standards, and a consistent contributor through its continuous proactive participation and chairing of ACORD working groups,” said Denise Garth, ACORD’s vice president of Membership and Development. “By the four awards won in 2005, CSC continues to demonstrate leadership in making the long-term investment required for ACORD standards adoption.”

Since 1997, the ACORD awards have recognized companies that have embraced standards to improve data communications and workflow efficiency for insurers, cut overall industry costs and expand trading partner opportunities. CSC has been a member of ACORD for more than 20 years, helping define and apply ACORD standards. By using XML-based ACORD standards, CSC’s software can more easily automate the processing of transactions from beginning to end across multiple organizations, systems and technologies.

“Financial services firms want function-rich, flexible applications that can be rapidly implemented, which requires advanced technical concepts and architectures,” said Jim Cook, president of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “CSC’s experience has shown that use of industry standards such as ACORD’s is a powerful tactic to increase the results our clients can realize from their software.”
