CSC LAUNCHES NEW CUSTOMER SERVICE PLATFORM FOR LIFE INSURERS

Customer Service Accelerator Reduces Operating Costs and Improves Quality of Service

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., May 19 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today introduced Customer Service Accelerator, a system that integrates multiple life and annuity insurance administration system transactions for greater efficiency, improved customer service and reduced costs.

The Customer Service Accelerator system provides a single, Web-enabled, front-end interface for all customer service transactions, simplifying use and shortening training cycles for new staff. It improves access to insurance policy data by providing call center representatives and back-office staff with a consolidated view of customer information and contact history. It also offers managers an integrated view of business activity to identify backlogs or bottlenecks and redeploy resources. The system’s business process management (BPM), process automation and activity management features further simplify insurance processes and can reduce operating expenses by 25 to 40 percent.

Customer Service Accelerator is the only administrative system consolidator that includes a call center component, external rules engine, BPM, integrated workflow and electronic imaging. The system uses open standards, such as ACORD’s XML interfaces and HTTP-based protocols and complies with CSC e4, the company’s enterprise integration architecture. Customer Service Accelerator supports any type of insurance administration system and includes prebuilt adapters to CSC’s CyberLife and VANTAGE-ONE life and annuity software.

“Because of their multiple systems and complex processes, life and annuity insurers are struggling to meet customer service expectations,” said Michael Risley, president of the Life and Annuity Solutions division of CSC's Financial Services Group. “CSC’s experience and practical innovation help insurers be more responsive to customers and achieve business results with greater efficiency.”
