Bank Consolidates Commercial Banking Services with CSC’s CheckVisionEL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 21 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that SunTrust Banks Inc., one of the nation's largest commercial banking organizations, has licensed CSC’s CheckVision software to provide electronic check images and associated reports on CD-ROM to its commercial banking clients. Under the agreement, CSC will also help consolidate three disparate SunTrust CD-ROM image delivery systems onto CheckVision.
CSC’s CheckVision short-term archive and integrated delivery components store electronic bank statements, account reconciliation reports and check images for 45 days, and enable banks to provide this information to their customers by CD-ROM or the Internet.
SunTrust will use CheckVision for CD-ROM, which runs on IBM’s eServer pSeries hardware and DB2 UDB software, to centralize its delivery services to commercial clients. By eliminating redundant delivery systems, SunTrust will be able to reduce its unit costs.
“We had four delivery platforms from several different vendors, including CSC,” said Ernie Harris, group vice president of Business and Commercial Product Management at SunTrust. “Because of CSC’s strong track record of delivering and integrating systems within large bank environments, we chose to use CSC and its CheckVision system for all of our CD-ROM delivery services.”
“By leveraging the integrated delivery capabilities of CheckVision, SunTrust will continue to differentiate its commercial banking services from the rest of the market,” said Bill Cunningham, general manager of CSC’s Integrated Payments organization. “SunTrust’s decision is the most recent example of banks relying on CSC’s experience and practical innovation to help achieve better business results.”
