Scheduled releases are intended to automate or eliminate most manual processes across collections, loss mitigation fulfillment and foreclosure / bankruptcyEL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 25 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it intends to enhance the benefits of its EarlyResolution default management utility enabling it to automate most of the manual processes inherent in collections, loss-mitigation fulfillment and foreclosure / bankruptcy.
EarlyResolution was created in 2000 by Freddie Mac in collaboration with Revolent Technologies and a consortium of banks to help mortgage servicers find effective solutions when borrowers are in default, lower collection costs associated with defaults and enable more borrowers to keep their homes when facing potential foreclosure. Acquired by CSC in 2003, EarlyResolution is used by five of the top 10 loan servicers.
CSC worked with DST Technologies Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of DST Systems (NYSE: DST) to develop the upcoming 2005 release of EarlyResolution which is designed to offer mortgage servicers valuable default processing functionality including third-party integration; document management; automated processes; performance management and reporting; business rules-driven functionality; and workflow-driven processes. Better utilization of staff, instantaneous file access, elimination of paper processing and focused performance measurement capabilities are expected to enable EarlyResolution users to realize operational efficiencies and productivity gains. In addition, users should benefit from cost savings in areas including paper processing; office space and equipment; staff training; and storage space.
EarlyResolution’s new functionality will be available to mortgage servicers in an application service provider model which allows continuous enhancement of the application and provides a platform for quick rollout of improvements.
“All of EarlyResolution’s requirements come from best-in-class business practices,” said Jamie Jackson, a partner with CSC’s Consulting Group and leader of the EarlyResolution practice. “The new releases were developed in collaboration with leading servicers that are existing EarlyResolution users. With this new release, we are transforming the way servicers manage default, from the first call to the workout resolution.”
The 2005 release of EarlyResolution is designed to provide end-to-end workflow for all solutions, enhancing servicers ability to resolve delinquency issues and retain mortgages. Subsequent releases are expected to enable mortgage servicers to configure their own loss-mitigation fulfillment workflow by combining loan attributes and to incorporate a sophisticated, easy-to-use management control maintenance capability.
Servicers should also be able to utilize integrated faxing, customize solution types, automate end-to-end workflow for liquidation solutions, mechanize additional third-party interfaces, incorporate rules-based third-party vendor selection, implement net present value algorithms for liquidation workouts and execute foreclosure/bankruptcy options.
“For more than a decade, DST and CSC have helped financial services companies experience significant productivity improvements using DST’s Automated Work Distributor (AWD) business process management suite,” said Timothy O’Brien, vice president of AWD sales for DST Technologies. “We are excited to once again join forces with CSC to help the mortgage servicing industry benefit from these operational efficiencies and productivity gains.”
EarlyResolution’s 2005 releases will also offer optional features for servicers to scan documents; save voice conversations; outsource imaging capabilities and mail room functions; interface to in-house imaging systems; store documents; and obtain additional business process reengineering and organizational change support.
Complete full-service outsourcing will also be available for servicers to receive mail and scan, index, store and provide access to documents on demand.
