CSC RELEASES NEW SOFTWARE FOR P&C INSURERS

POINT IN Release 11 Offers Advanced Claims and Billing Features

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 21, 2004 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today introduced a new version of its POINT IN software. Release 11 includes both new and enhanced components that will help North American property and casualty (P&C) insurers and managing general agents (MGAs) reduce costs, improve customer service and react quickly to market opportunities.

CSC’s POINT IN is a comprehensive policy, billing and claims administration system that integrates the entire personal lines, commercial lines, workers' compensation and manually-rated insurance processes. More than 110 small- to mid-sized insurers and MGAs use POINT IN, making it the leading P&C administration system in the U.S. midrange market. With the new version, CSC has reengineered POINT IN’s Claims, Billing and Collection components to work with the company’s service-oriented architecture to simplify integration with other systems. CSC has also added new optional components that automate bodily injury evaluation and automated underwriting.

POINT IN’s new Bodily Injury Evaluator component allows users to initiate analysis and export consultation results to the POINT IN Information Center to more consistently and fairly assess bodily injury claims. Non-technical users can also employ POINT IN’s new rules-based automated Underwriting component to improve underwriting results and reduce operational costs.

"As a participant in Release 11 beta testing, Co-operative had early access to POINT IN’s expanded functions and new technology," said Ted Davis, vice president of Co-operative Insurance Companies, which uses POINT IN for both company employees and exclusive agents. "The system’s performance and CSC’s responsiveness have been first-rate."

"By introducing a component strategy to the midrange insurance market, which has historically bought monolithic systems, CSC has provided new flexibility," said Ray August, president of the P&C Insurance division of CSC’s Financial Services Group. "POINT IN clients can implement what they want, when they want it, which is another example of CSC’s practical innovation."
