CSC SHOWCASES NEW SOFTWARE AT INSURANCE CONFERENCE

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C., Sept. 15 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) introduced new property and casualty (P&C) insurance and risk management software this week at CSC’s Connect 2004 conference.

Held in Myrtle Beach September 13-17, CSC’s largest-ever Connect conference has brought together more than 800 clients and CSC professionals to share advice, tools, resources and strategies for leveraging technology for business advantage.

“Connect gives us the opportunity to collaborate with clients to ensure that our offerings remain among the industry’s most comprehensive, innovative and valuable solutions,” said Ray August, president of the P&C Insurance division of CSC’s Financial Services Group.

At the conference, CSC launched POINT IN Release 11, an advanced insurance administration system for small to mid-sized North American property and casualty insurers and managing general agents. With the new version, POINT IN is now integrated with CSC’s Bodily Injury Evaluator and Underwriting components, providing users easy access to additional support for claims and policy issue.

CSC also demonstrated the latest release of Client and Print enhancements to its Exceed software, which provides complete processing for large-enterprise personal-lines insurance carriers, and previewed upcoming enhancements that will further streamline policy administration. The company also previewed the next generation of its RISKMASTER risk and claims management system, which, when released, will provide a fully browser-based system for self-insured organizations.

Conference attendees were also given an early look at CSC’s claims-product strategy and vision, including preliminary versions of a new desktop and a management dashboard. When released, Claims Desktop will be the industry’s first system that integrates third-party claims tools with CSC’s claims systems and tools, simplifying the users’ interface and workflow. Claims Management Dashboard will provide sophisticated reporting capabilities for real time claims monitoring.

“Our users’ perspectives and priorities help CSC channel research and development funds toward the best use of new technologies in our software,” said August.

User communities that met during the conference included CSC’s Advanced Claims (formerly ClaimsPro), COGEN, Colossus, Exceed, iSolutions, LitigationAdvisor, PABBLO, POINT IN, RISKMASTER and Series II.
