News Release -- March 18, 2004

CSC LICENSES INSURANCE SOFTWARE TO CONSECO

CSC’s CyberLife, PerformancePlus and VP/MS to Consolidate Systems for Insurer

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 18, 2004 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced that Conseco Services, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Conseco Inc. (NYSE: CNO), has licensed three integrated CSC software products to streamline the insurer’s back-office processing and reduce costs.

With CSC’s support, Conseco will convert and replace more than 20 systems with CSC’s CyberLife, PerformancePlus and Visual Product/Modeling System (VP/MS) software, which will become Conseco’s consolidated individual life insurance back-office platform.

CyberLife is a Web-enabled policy administration system that automates contract servicing from the point of sale through final payout. CyberLife integrates with PerformancePlus, incentive management software designed to streamline commission and bonus processing, enhance channel management and improve relationships with insurers’ sales forces, and VP/MS, a self-documenting, portable business rules and calculation engine.

“CSC’s integrated enterprise software will allow us to eliminate many of the life insurance administration systems we have assumed through years of acquisitions,” said Gary Brown, senior vice president and chief information officer of Conseco Services, LLC. “CSC’s insurance expertise and proven systems conversion methodologies will provide the flexibility we need to improve responsiveness to our customers and distributors.”

“CSC is pleased to play a key role in Conseco’s transformation by supporting this systems simplification initiative,” said Michael W. Risley, president of the Life and Health Division of CSC’s Financial Services Group. “Converting to CSC’s enterprise systems will help Conseco drive down costs and improve its competitive position.”
