Aldershot, 9 September 2003 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today the availability of a new version of LIFE/400 at the user group's annual conference being held in Aldershot, UK. The new version now offers life and pensions providers using the IBM eServer iSeries platform, a comprehensive, Web-enabled, low-risk back-office life administration solution.
LIFE/400 is an integral component of CSC's portfolio of solutions to support life and pensions insurers alongside GraphTalk A.I.A. LIFE/400 has proven itself as a solution for companies where the criticality of implementing a life administration solution in a short period of time is coupled with economies of scale. It has also earned a track record as a low-risk life administration system and has been implemented by more than 75 companies in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific.
After working closely with its user group, CSC has re-engineered LIFE/400 to include a host of benefits to meet current market requirements. The new version incorporates a series of tools that enables the system to operate as a service provider within an enterprise architecture or with direct host access via a browser-based, thin-client user interface.
The new release improves the user's ability to provide first class customer service by optionally redefining the business process flow to reflect current servicing needs, whilst re-using previous investment in code. Together with XML-based data transfer capabilities, the flexibility for deployment of LIFE/400 has now increased considerably.
"LIFE/400 has a well established customer base, which will be able to benefit enormously from this new version," said Eric Boileve, head of the Life & Pensions Solution Group for CSC's EMEA operations. "Our collaborative efforts with our user group have enabled us to fine tune this solution so that it best meets customer requirements.
"CSC is committed to LIFE/400 as its solution for the iSeries. It is important to us to be able to support insurance customers across the range of technology platforms that they use and LIFE/400 continues to play an important role in our ability to deliver against this commitment."
