EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Feb. 10, 2004 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) today announced the U.S.-based release of an enhanced version of Colossus, the property and casualty (P&C) insurance industry’s leading software tool for evaluating bodily injury claims.
Colossus is a software tool designed to help adjustors fairly and consistently evaluate bodily injury claims and promote the use of best practices in the claims adjustment process. Equally effective for personal and commercial insurance lines, Colossus is used by adjustors to help evaluate general damages at 12 of the top 20 U.S. automobile insurers and more than 50 companies worldwide.
The new version, Colossus 7.0, improves the claims assessment process with features such as consolidated navigation; automated data entry with graphical injury selection; improved injury entry options, which support ICD9 international statistical classifications of diseases and related health problems; and access to consultation history. Insurers can install Colossus in their own information technology (IT) centers or access it through CSC’s managed hosting environment.
“With this new release, we are continuing to improve insurers’ ability to consistently assess bodily injuries, deploy best practices and report results,” said Ray August, president of the P&C Insurance division of CSC’s Financial Services Group in the Americas. “CSC’s extensive experience enables us to continue to advance the system’s ease-of-use, flexibility and function.”
