Austin, Texas, Sept. 16 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) and PSI Technologies Corporation today announced that CSC plans to resell PSI's e-business solutions for electronic document management and statement processing using Internet/intranet, CD-ROM and other archival technologies.
An agreement between the two companies allows multiple areas within CSC to expand their sales offerings to include PSI's Digital Xpress Reports (DXR) suite of software products and services that provides an alternative to manual paper storage and delivery.
The arrangement also enables CSC to offer clients in-house systems that supply permanent electronic storage of reports and statements, such as insurance premium bills and policy documents, with Internet or CD-ROM/DVD delivery options.
By implementing PSI's network-based document delivery system, clients can search, view or extract data from any document, providing prompt retrieval and full-fidelity viewing without the delays associated with standard searches through file or microfiche archives. The digital replicas retain the look of a paper document, with the added benefit of delivery on CD-ROM or via the Internet or corporate intranet for viewing from the desktop. These capabilities enable frequent retrieval and timely delivery of information across the enterprise to speed service and support business strategies.
"PSI is pleased to team with CSC to deliver our information management solutions to the broad spectrum of markets CSC serves," said Pete Kaufmann, president, PSI Technologies. "We believe our experience in archiving and presentment of statements, bills and reports will extend CSC's customers' ability to improve delivery times and customer service access to business-critical documents."
PSI's clients, including major financial and insurance organizations, have improved productivity, achieved competitive advantage in customer service and saved millions of dollars by eliminating the cost of manually retrieving paper and microfiche.
"We believe the relationship with PSI provides our customers with a best-of-breed report archival and retrieval system, featuring extraordinary performance for customer contact support," said Ken Carpenter, managing director for business integration services in CSC's Financial Services Group.
Headquartered in Austin, Texas, with offices in the United Kingdom and South America, PSI is a leading provider of software and service solutions that automate the presentation, publishing and archiving of high-volume bills and statements using Internet/intranet and archival media.
