EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 10 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that 39 new clients have licensed RISKMASTER, its risk management information system (RMIS), since the beginning of 2001. Many of these new clients include industry leaders, such as Wendy's International, Pinnacle Risk Management Services, FedEx Ground, Raytheon, the City of Ottawa and Liberty Insurance Services.
With nearly 440 client companies accounting for more than 5,400 licenses, CSC serves one of the largest RMIS client bases in the industry.
RISKMASTER processes, manages and analyzes a wide range of risk and claims data for self-insured organizations, third-party administrators, insurance pools, safety managers, adjusters and other claims professionals. The product became a CSC offering at the beginning of 2001 with CSC's purchase of Mynd Corporation.
"Self insurance has become a more attractive option for many large organizations in today's increasingly difficult market," said Joe Jensen, executive vice president of Cost Containment Solutions for CSC's Financial Services Group in the Americas. "Now more than ever, firms are challenged to do more with less. Software investments go toward the alternatives with the greatest potential return on investment. RISKMASTER has been proven to reduce overall costs and proactively address a wide variety of risks."
RISKMASTER is one of many CSC tools and services that help organizations reduce financial loss due to inflated claims costs, fraud and unnecessary litigation costs. CSC's cost containment solutions range from COLOSSUS, which facilitates fair and consistent bodily injury and general damage claims evaluation, to Fraud Investigator, developed specifically for the property and casualty insurance Special Investigations Unit market, and to LitigationAdvisor, which improves the management of legal cost expenditures. CSC is continually expanding its inventory of best-of-breed cost containment solutions through development, industry alliances and acquisitions.
