The client firm focuses on insurance for individuals and small businesses and it insures more than 700,000 businesses. It wanted an insurance system that can reduce costs, improve service and help react quickly to market changes.
To support its program of system rationalisation to reduce costs and drive complexity out of its business, the client signed a global software licensing contract for Exceed, CSC’s comprehensive software for the general insurance industry. The client could use Exceed's components independently to extend and enhance the life of its legacy systems or as a fully integrated technological and functional upgrade of its systems across all lines of business.

The client partnered with the CSC teams to support end-to-end implementation of Exceed components in its environment. The India team was primarily responsible for design and testing, along with release and customer acceptance of the product. Apart from providing support for enhancements, customisation, release management and testing, the India team had to consolidate all general insurance business systems onto one insurance business system and rationalise eight major back office administration systems on a single insurance platform.
