ERP: CSC Supports Post-Merger Process Standardisation for Automobile Glass Company
Client:
One of the largest automobile glass sales and distribution company.Challenge:
- Develop a single system by integrating different processes brought together through acquisitions.
Solution:
- CSC met the challenge by applying its world sourcing model to integrate onshore and offshore capabilities and provide proven knowledge transfer procedures and project management protocols.
Results:
- A single system developed for all the European countries that gave better visibility over entire operations and financial situation of the company.
The client is one of the world’s largest automobile glass companies with more than 400 separate organisational entities. Towards driving its sales growth and expanding to additional new markets, the client acquired different companies. With each company having its own processes, the need was for process standardisation as the client operations were spread across different countries.
Our Approach
The client turned to CSC when its Oracle implementation for integrating different processes failed twice with two previous service providers. As a result, the timeframe that CSC had to work in was extraordinarily tight.
CSC met the challenge by applying its world sourcing model to integrate onshore and offshore capabilities and provide proven knowledge transfer procedures and project management protocols. A full lifecycle implementation, built on customisations, interfaces and reporting, was rolled out within the tight time frame required by the client. Data was extracted from legacy systems, cleaned and migrated into the new environment. Legal and statutory reporting was enabled in countries across the European Union. Global support was provided in multiple languages, earning a user satisfaction rating of 94 percent.
The Breakthrough
The India team replaced legacy system for more than 170 organisations of the client with following benefits to them:
- Better visibility over entire operations and financial situation of the company through a single system for all European countries
- Reduced operational costs because the need to support and maintain multiple systems by multiple vendors was eliminated
