50 Years of Success - Our History

Our history is scripted by our people – people who’ve created software that enables the world’s largest telescope explore the deepest reaches of the galaxy. People who have helped protect the seas by teaching bacteria to clean up oil spills; who’ve transformed the way business is conducted on the floor of the world’s busiest stock exchange and reinvented the entire patient care model for a major hospital network. And who've have trekked to the top of mountain ranges to one of the world’s most remote mining operations to provide onsite communications and IT support. Our history is scripted by people who have taken us from two men with a hundred dollars in 1959, to a multi billion dollar giant known for delivering mission critical systems resulting lasting impact to our clients worlwide.

Below is the brief timeline of CSC India.

2009: CSC celebrates 50th anniversary across the globe.

2007: CSC acquires Covansys, a global consulting and technology services company specialising in industry-specific solutions, strategic outsourcing and integration services. With this acquisition CSC's reach in India extends to seven cities including NOIDA, Hyderabad, Indore, Chennai, Bangalore, Vadodara and Mumbai. CSC also acquires FCG strengthening its Healthcare practice. CSC's head count reaches 16,000 in India.

2006: CSC opens Office of Innovation in India, one of four such centres established outside the US. CSC's headcount in India crosses 7,000 and the company moves to a fourth location, Chennai. CSC announces its state-of-the-art campus in Noida.

2005: CSC's headcount in India grows 100 per cent to reach 4,400. Three new facilities set up in Noida and Hyderabad.

2004: Two large global engagements in Application Services being serviced in India.

2003: CSC in India headcount crosses the 1,000 mark, Infrastructure Services begin operations.

2002: Banking operations initiated. Life Insurance group sees a huge expansion with the Vantage product support.

2001: Healthcare and BPO operations start.

2000: CSC acquires PMSC, PMSC India becomes part of CSC.

1996: Policy Management Systems Corporation (PMSC) of Blythewood, South Carolina - a leading software vendor serving the insurance industry, sets up Indian arm in Indore, Madhya Pradesh through subsidiary PMSC India.
