In its quest for excellence, CSC’s processes in India have been assessed at the highest levels as per industry standards. A few of CSC’s achievements in India are:
- ISO 9000: This standard certifies that consistent business processes are being applied throughout CSC. We have state-of-the-art products, services, processes, materials and systems, and managerial as well as organisational practices. We have been successfully assessed against ISO 9001:1994 and 9001:2000 standards.
- CMM L5: This standard certifies that we focus on continually improving process performance through both incremental as well as innovative technological improvements. We have matured software processes and key practices for planning, engineering and managing software development and maintenance. Our software services in financial services group have been assessed at level 5 and our outsourcing services group follows the global process framework, which is level 5 compliant.
- CMMi L3: This standard certifies an explicit connect between the management and engineering activities to fulfil our business objectives. It helps expand the scope of and visibility into the product lifecycle and engineering activities to ensure that the product or service meets customer expectations. Our outsourcing services group has been assessed at CMMi level 3 globally enabling consistent delivery.
- PCMM L5: This standard certifies that we focus on continual improvement to the capability of individuals and workgroups and performance of competency based processes, workforce practices and activities. Our people practices in financial services group have been assessed at level 5 and our infrastructure services and outsourcing services groups have been assessed at PCMM level 3.
- ISO/IEC 27001:2005: This standard certifies that we maintain an effective information management system, using a continual improvement approach. We implement security controls customised to our needs that protect information assets and give confidence to our clients. Our infrastructure services group has been successfully assessed for this certification.
- BS 15000: This standard certifies that we have an integrated set of management processes for the effective delivery of services to our customers. This is an IT service management model (ITIL). Our infrastructure services group is compliant and assessed on this standard.
CSC in India has been using Six Sigma for continuous improvement in most of its projects. It is a tribute to CSC’s commitment towards operational excellence that in addition to the IT projects, many internal processes like Training, Finance and HR have been brought under the Six Sigma ambit.
