Safe and Secured Place

Good health and safety is an integral part of any successful business. It is sound economics to protect the most valuable asset of a company – our people. Security and disaster recovery have always been important considerations for CSC in India.
Physical Security
Our offices are totally controlled by CSC. Office premises are equipped with electronic access control. Surveillance cameras are installed across major checkpoints in the premises across all the facilities.
Fire Prevention Mechanisms
Smoke and heat detectors, false ceilings and water-based sprinkler systems are an integral part of the fire prevention system. Server rooms are fitted with fire prevention devices and elevated fire-resistant flooring. Critical documents and media are kept in fire-resistant lockers. Periodic fire drills and inspection of safety mechanisms are conducted to ensure readiness at all times.
Information and Data Security
Security of data during transfer from India to customer systems takes place through encrypted VPN tunnels using 3DES encryption.
Security Against Hackers
Internet access is provided through Checkpoint or Gauntlet firewall configured as per CSC’s global guidelines.
Anti-virus Protection
System protection is ensured through usage of standard anti-virus products like Computer Associates’ eTrust. Daily virus scans and automated virus signature updates are conducted on all servers and PCs.
Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP)
Recognising the need for business continuity planning, CSC in India has designed, developed and implemented a robust DRP. This plan covers events like a business unit becoming in-operable due to fire or earthquake, an entire city going down due to natural or other calamities and the unlikely event of the entire country being severely affected due to a disaster such as war.
CSC in India has disaster recovery teams (management, recovery and facility) at each location to handle recovery in case of a disaster. The DRP team conducts periodic audits and tests to ensure regular backups and document upgrading.
CSC in India has well defined and mutually agreed upon (with clients) norms for acceptable recovery time and acceptable data loss on the basis of which the DRP process is established and maintained.
