  • ASL becomes Sun's first Java Center of Excellence (JCOE) Level 2 Authorized Partner in Hong Kong
  • ELM becomes the Group's wholly-owned subsidiary

  • ASL's 30th anniversary marks the company's steady growth and proven track record of providing total IT solutions and comprehensive services to customers in Asia
  • A growing workforce of over 1,000 employees to strive for service and solution business expansion
  • Computer Sciences Corporation (CSC), a US-listed company, becomes the ultimate controlling stakeholder of ASL

2002

  • ASL Group Training Center is relocated to Wan Chai and equipped with multi-platform computing systems and advanced training facilities in an expanded area of over 8,000 sq. ft.
  • ASL establishes a 12,000 sq. ft. Digital Imaging Center in its head office for document and graphic conversion into digital images using innovative scanning technologies

2001

  • ASL expands its Hong Kong offices to over 140,000 sq. ft. with the headquarters being furnished with a well-equipped solutions centre and a two-floor staircase

  • ASL receives the recognition as a "Sun Enterprise Services Hong Kong/ Macau Local Strategic Provider & Sun Service Representative" from Sun Microsystems
  • ASL receives the recognition as a "Sun Enterprise Services Hong Kong/ Macau Sun Service Manager" from Sun Microsystems

  • ASL opens the Windows NT Solution Centre
  • ASL and ELM win the PC & Network and UNIX Bulk Contracts of value over HK$300 million

  • ASL opens the Internet/Intranet Solution Centre for Java

  • Automated Systems Holdings Limited is listed on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited

1996

  • ASL Hong Kong headquarters moves to a 60,000 square-feet office to cope with business expansion
  • Hong Kong Government grants Bulk Contract for networking systems with over 10,000 system units and total value over HK$300 million

1995

  • ELM is awarded from IBM the sole distributorship of RS/6000 40P and 43P Power PCs in Hong Kong
  • Hotel Division is set up to service the hospitality industry

1994

  • ELM Computer Technologies Ltd. becomes a member of the ASL Group
  • Wanchai branch office is set up to provide immediate support to clients with critical applications in the Central Business District
  • ASL becomes the sole Authorized Education Center for SunSoft in Hong Kong
  • CSA Automated (Macau) Ltd. is established serving the Macau market

1991

  • ASL introduces the "Optical Character Recognition (OCR) System" to the Census and Statistics Department. OCR technology is first deployed in the 1991 Hong Kong Population Census

1989

  • ASL revamps computer systems for six government departments in Hong Kong

  • ASL launches Sun Workstations in Hong Kong

1983

  • A new era for the general public of Hong Kong with a new online ticketing system, the URBTIX, which is developed by ASL for the Urban Council of Hong Kong

1977

  • ASL is the primary contractor for development of the "Telephone Betting System" for the Royal Hong Kong Jockey Club

1975

  • ASL introduces the Data Entry System and marks the end of the punch card system in Hong Kong

1974

  • ASL is the pioneer of DEC systems in the Hong Kong territory

1973
