CSC Recognized by National Institutes of Health
FALLS CHURCH, Va., April 30 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) is among companies recognized by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) for outstanding performance under the Institutes’ Chief Information Officer Solutions and Partners II contract (CIO-SP2). Dr. Leamon Lee, NIH associate director of administration, presented the honor at an awards ceremony this month.
The CIO-SP2 contract is a government-wide acquisition agreement supported by the NIH. In 2001, CSC became the top revenue winner among the 48 companies competing under the contract. Additionally, Rusty Wall, CSC’s CIO-SP2 program manager was presented the NIH Information Technology Acquisition & Assessment Center Director’s award at the ceremony.
CSC has won $286.3 million in task orders under the agreement since the contract was awarded in 2000. Through those task orders, the company supports the U.S. Forest Service, NIH, Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services, Department of Treasury, U.S. Navy and Defense Information Systems Agency. Services provided include systems migration, infrastructure support, enhanced digital imaging, risk mitigation and the use of best manufacturing practices.
The CSC team encompasses 30 companies comprising 100,000 professionals with proven experience in every task area of the contract.
The CIO-SP2 contract provides hardware, software, systems and services in support of information technology (IT) solutions within NIH and other government agencies. This contract allows federal agencies to purchase IT products and services as task orders in nine key areas. These areas include CIO support, outsourcing, IT operations and maintenance, integration services, critical infrastructure protection and information assurance, digital government, enterprise resource planning, clinical support, research and studies, and software development.
