Meet Adam - Technical Consulting Class of 2012
Welcome to my part of the CSC blog, as a part of this blog and to have good manners I should introduce myself first really.
I’m Adam Callaghan, a 2012 graduate at CSC and started in September. I’m currently working as a Technology Consultant and more specifically working in a security consulting role.
I graduated May 2012 from the University of Worcester where I achieved a First Class BSc (Hons) in Computing, throughout this degree I specialised in security; including network, physical and information security. Part of this specialism took me down the road of security of users in the areas of social engineering and the psychological aspects of security.
I’ve worked for most of my life in various roles including teaching, technical support, sales and management. I looked to work with CSC and specifically the consulting area inside of CSC for many reasons, but the two mains aspects were:
- The lure of a graduate training scheme
- Large range of projects and work that CSC provides.
Having a specific graduate training scheme available that runs for two years gives me the confidence and knowledge that I will be trained and supported throughout my two years a graduate. This will in turn lead to me being a better consultant and IT professional.
CSC aren’t a single minded company, we don’t work in just one area, or supply one type of business or even work with one specific vendor of hardware and software. There is a great range of work available where my graduate colleagues are working in Project Management, Business Analysis and Security all for different and large clients. This large scope of work and environments gives me the possibilities to learn more than just technical aspects of work; it gives me the ability to learn aspects of work that I didn’t know existed while I was studying at University. New areas of work and security have been shown to me and already leading me down a path that I’m enjoying, being challenged in and didn’t think I’d work in 12months ago.
So that is me, as with all blog updates; if you have questions then please ask and I’ll try to respond as quickly as my workload allows me.
