Meet Siya - Client and Business Development Class of 2012
My name is Siya and I am a Client and Business Development graduate. I have just joined the programme this October as part of the Market Development team for the Technology and Consumer Services Sector. I will work here in the next six months before moving to my second assignment on the scheme. My job involves supporting the work of different account teams, looking to grow our business in the sector. I will take part in the creation of the sector’s strategy for the next financial year as well as in putting that strategy into action and bringing in revenue for the company. I am really excited about my role as I believe it gives me a great insight into how businesses evolve and prosper, as well as challenges me in ways that I develop myself as a professional.
A bit of background information for me: I have just graduated from Aston University in Birmingham as a Bachelor of Science in Business and Management. I did a sandwich degree with integrated 1-year work placement in my 3rd year, which I spent working for CSC. During my time spent with the company, I developed important skills such as working as part of a team and problem solving, which helped me in various projects in my final year of university. Working for CSC challenged me and gave me the opportunity to explore the world of business. Moreover, I realised that the company’s culture really suited my character – everybody here is friendly and ready to help, which puts me at ease and gives me an opportunity to meet new people every day and create friendships at work. For these reasons at the end of my placement year, I decided to apply for CSC’s graduate scheme and I haven’t looked back ever since.
