A Message from Chris DePippo, Chief Ethics and Compliance Officer
At CSC, our directors, officers, executives, managers and supervisors strive as ethical leaders to create and maintain a culture of integrity and compliance in all business activities, in all places, and at all times. We view our standing as an ethical company as a critical asset whose value is to be exploited and which is to be protected as any other.
In our company, we strive for high integrity and high performance inseparably, and we believe that the achievement of either without the other is undesirable and unacceptable. As colleagues throughout the global CSC community, day-in and day-out we’re intent on fusing together an integrity and performance culture that allows all of our important client, partner, employee and investor stakeholders to be proud of their CSC association and rewarded for the trust they extend us.
Knowing that integrity matters at CSC — that, indeed, we care as much about how we achieve as what we achieve — is reassuring to these key constituents. Our clients and partners can take comfort knowing that in the high-integrity corporate culture we demand, ethical misconduct is less likely to occur and more likely to be reported if it does. We know that employees in such companies are typically more engaged, more productive for their clients and generally happier with their employment. Therefore, each day, we work hard to sustain for CSC employees a culture that unites us all around common, well-understood corporate values. And when companies focus on culture as a competitive advantage, investors are known to benefit, too, from higher long-term shareholder returns.
For these reasons and more, CSC’s directors and its management reaffirm their long-standing commitment to ethics, compliance, corporate values and a strong culture of integrity. In service to this commitment, CSC’s ethics and compliance function deploys globally, reports directly to the Board of Directors, and is given the authority and independence required for maximum effectiveness.
At its core, CSC’s Ethics and Compliance Office (ECO) promotes a culture that encourages ethical conduct and a commitment to compliance with CSC’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Conduct, our business conduct policies, and the law. Specific ECO programs and assets include:
- CSC’s Code of Business Conduct
- CSC’s business conduct policies
- Annual Code/Standards training and certification
- Risk-based employee compliance training
- The CSC OpenLine, an always available, confidential ethics and compliance advice and reporting facility.
CSC is truly committed to performance with integrity. We’re focused on values and culture for the many benefits these are thought to deliver. To reach us in the CSC Ethics and Compliance Office, drop us a note at ethics@csc.com.
