CSC AND TDC SIGN NEW $330 MILLION IT SERVICES AGREEMENT
Communiqués -- Mars (mois) 15, 2007
Seven-year agreement extends CSC’s relationship with Denmark’s leading telecommunications providerEL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 15 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has signed an information technology (IT) services agreement with TDC, the largest telecommunications company in Denmark. The seven-year contract is valued at approximately $330 million.
Under the terms of the agreement, CSC will provide the full scope of IT infrastructure services for TDC including desktop, helpdesk, data center and local area networking services. These services will support some 17,000 users at TDC locations across the Nordic countries.
The new agreement supersedes two previous IT outsourcing contracts awarded to CSC by TDC in 2003 and 2005, under which CSC has supported a broad range of business-critical applications and desktop services for TDC in Denmark. The agreement substantially expands the scope of infrastructure services to be provided by CSC, particularly with respect to desktop, helpdesk and midrange computing services.
As part of the new agreement, approximately 145 IT services employees will join CSC in April.
“TDC has established a mature IT operation which is now best developed through applying the expertise and resources of an external IT services partner,” said Jorgen Jakobsen, Group IT Director of TDC. “This new agreement with CSC will enable us to further modernize and consolidate our IT infrastructure services operations in line with TDC’s business requirements.
"The agreement will also benefit TDC employees transferring to CSC through providing increased exposure to CSC best practices in IT systems development and management.”
“We are delighted to extend our relationship with TDC," said Guy Hains, president of CSC’s European Group. “This new agreement demonstrates CSC’s ability to successfully adapt to changing client IT and business requirements and reinforces our market presence as a leading IT services provider in the Nordic region. We look forward to helping TDC achieve its operational and business results and welcoming the contribution of transferring employees to CSC’s future success.”
