CSC SIGNS $180 MILLION IT SERVICES AGREEMENT WITH NEWMONT MINING CORPORATION

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Nov. 14 – Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that it has signed a seven-year, $180 million information technology (IT) services contract with Newmont Mining Corporation (NYSE: NEM), one of the world’s largest gold mining companies.Under the agreement, CSC will manage IT operations for all of Newmont’s global shared services operations and regional gold mining facilities, including locations in Denver, Nevada, Ghana, Peru and Australia. The contract includes responsibility for Newmont’s enterprise-wide infrastructure, which includes help desk, desktop, network and telecommunications, and security services, as well as server support and applications maintenance.
“This contract underscores the business value CSC brings to large-scale global mining companies such as Newmont,” said CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Van B. Honeycutt. “We look forward to leveraging our expertise in IT outsourcing and our experience in the mining industry to deliver results that support Newmont’s key business goals.”
“We are pleased to expand our existing relationship with CSC in signing this new agreement,” said Alex Morrison, Newmont’s vice president, Information Technology. CSC has provided consulting services to various organizations within Newmont for the past two years.
