CSC AWARDED $50 MILLION APPLICATION OUTSOURCING CONTRACT BY LINCOLN FINANCIAL GROUP

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Sept. 4 -- Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC), one of the world's leading information technology (IT) services and consulting firms, today announced that Lincoln Financial Group's Lincoln Retirement division has signed a seven-year application outsourcing extension with CSC valued in excess of $50 million.

Under the agreement, CSC will provide comprehensive application enhancement, management and production support for CSC's VANTAGE-ONEā„¢ enterprise life insurance and annuity processing system. The total number of Lincoln annuity contracts on VANTAGE-ONE will be increased to 1.5 million by moving approximately 800,000 of Lincoln's employer-sponsored annuities to the system.

"CSC has been proactive in helping us to improve our applications infrastructure and new product introduction processes," said Lincoln Financial Group's Mark E. Reynolds, senior vice president of Lincoln Retirement. "This new agreement will lower our unit costs for both our individual and group lines of business. For our contract owners, their employers and our distributors, lower unit costs and better systems and infrastructure translate into higher customer product value, service and satisfaction."

"More than half of the variable annuity contracts sold in the U.S. are administered on VANTAGE-ONE, a function-rich administration engine for both life insurance and annuities," said Michael Risley, president of the Life and Annuity Solutions division of CSC's Financial Services Group. "CSC's support gives Lincoln Financial a distinct competitive advantage in the annuity marketplace."
