CSC LICENSES ITS EXCEED PROPERTY AND CASUALTY INSURANCE SOFTWARE TO THE HARTFORD

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 28, 2003 - Computer Sciences Corporation (NYSE: CSC) announced today that The Hartford Financial Services Group (NYSE: HIG) has signed a multi-year license for CSC's Exceed, a comprehensive software system for the property and casualty insurance industry.

Under the new agreement, CSC will implement Exceed for use in The Hartford's homeowners insurance line of business. CSC will also provide support for the ongoing enhancement of Exceed.

Exceed features integrated components, Web browser-based screens and an industry-standard ACORD XML architecture, which together help insurers improve service and react quickly to market changes. Developed in collaboration with U.S. and European carriers, Exceed's components integrate all areas of the insurance enterprise including policy administration, underwriting, billing, claims, commissions, work management, documents, image archive and business intelligence.

"CSC looks forward to expanding our support to The Hartford to include homeowners insurance administration," said Jim Cook, president of CSC's Financial Services Group. "The involvement of world-class financial services companies such as The Hartford enriches our client advisory programs, products and services."
