Dashboard Provides Quick Assessment of Legal Matters and Bills
Legal case managers and claim adjusters are continually inundated with information. As caseloads grow, they’re more likely to make mistakes or miss key milestones in a case.
CSC is introducing a new dashboard display in its Legal Solutions Suite software that will help legal and claim professionals better manage that information. Legal Solutions Suite 3.0 will give employees and their managers an at-a-glance view of the status of their workloads.
Introduced in 1999, Legal Solutions Suite is Web-based software that simplifies the billing process, tracks outside counsel performance and promotes best practices in managing legal matters. It is used by a wide range of insurance companies, corporations and public entities to manage legal invoices submitted by about 7,000 North American law firms.
Scheduled for release in April 2007, Legal Solutions Suite 3.0 includes technology updates to ensure compatibility and faster performance with Microsoft .Net Frameworks 2.0 and SQL 2005, but it also includes new ways of displaying information to help improve productivity.
The new release includes a Claim Handler Dashboard and Matter Dashboard that provide an easy-to-read analysis of each case’s budget, actual costs, pending invoices and key dates and deliverables. At the click of a button, users can view information at any level — company, division or law firm — and view year-to-year comparisons. Other new features will further integrate the software’s Calendar and To Do List, helping cases proceed as scheduled.
The upcoming release also includes the capability to include third-party expenses, even those not submitted through Legal Solutions Suite, ensuring that all case expenditures will be reported. The new release also adds flexibility to the process of resolving bill review questions. A new feature allows organizations to reconsider billing decisions multiple times to ensure billing matters can be resolved without manual rework.
The new version also fully integrates with CSC’s RISKMASTER claims and risk management software to better serve the growing number of self-insured organizations and TPAs that have licensed the system. Over the past quarter, new clients for CSC’s legal management software and services include a leading U.S. TPA, a statewide municipal risk pool, a national heavy equipment operator and one of the nation’s largest school districts.
