Enterprise Performance Management
Enterprise Performance Management strategy entails proactive alignment of corporate strategy with underlying operational drivers.
For most of corporate America, the overriding issue doesn’t seem to be bad business strategy but rather poor or inconsistent execution of the strategy. Organizations often find themselves drowning in data while being starved for relevant information. Without a clear understanding of the information necessary to measure attainment of the business strategy and adherence to the operating model, and to answer important business questions, it is extremely difficult to decide what data is necessary or how it should be organized for use.
To create an effective EPM framework, some important questions must be answered:
- What business outcomes demonstrate successful execution of our business strategy?
- How do we best monitor and measure those outcomes?
- What are the key elements of our operating model and the related business processes?
- How do we best measure the effectiveness of our operating model and the efficiency of the business processes that support it?
- What information is necessary to add “context” to the performance measurement framework and to answer business questions?
