This week, "Carrier" gave viewers an unprecedented look at life onboard the USS Nimitz supercarrier. CSC has a rich history of supporting the U.S. Navy, and is proud to be the corporate underwriter for the 10-part documentary series, now available online.
"This documentary deeply resonates with many of our customers and employees," says James W. Sheaffer, president of CSC’s North American Public Sector. "The U.S. Navy is an important client of ours, and many of our employees have proudly served in this branch of service and have similar connections and experiences to those who are profiled on the ’Carrier’ series."
"Carrier" episodes are available on the show’s Web site now. This marks the first time PBS has streamed an entire series online.

"Carrier" offers intimate view
Filmed in 2005 during Iraq war operations, "Carrier" gives audiences an intimate view of life onboard a nuclear aircraft carrier. Nearly 2,000 hours of high-definition video were captured aboard the ship during a six-month deployment to the Persian Gulf.
The USS Nimitz is the largest ship in its class of supercarriers, and is home to more than 5,000 sailors and Marines. "Carrier" explores the lives of these men and women — from the strike group admiral, to fighter pilots, to new sailors — as they navigate personal conflicts around their jobs, families, patriotism and war.
