Covansys and CSC: Expanding World
Sourcing Services in IndiaIn a move to strengthen Indian-based sourcing services to global customers, CSC has completed its previously announced acquisition of Covansys. (See press release for details.) Covansys and CSC each has a long history of providing Indian-based sourcing services. The combined companies provide customers with access to a larger set of resources and capabilities through the addition of new talent and industry knowledge. Additionally, the companies will be better positioned to deliver value to customers and shareholders, while offering new opportunities to employees.
One of CSC’s hallmarks is an inclusive culture that is accustomed to incorporating new companies through acquisition and outsourcing. The acquisition of Covansys will be no different. Covansys employees have significant business and technical expertise and bring with them a culture similar to CSC’s. For example, the companies share an emphasis on customer satisfaction in a number of similar markets and services (see table below).
Covansys, now referred to as Covansys, a CSC company, will operate as a separate business unit within CSC, reporting to CSC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Mike Laphen. CSC’s India Direct sales channel, part of the company’s new corporate strategy, Project Accelerate, will complement Covansys’ sales organization. Project Accelerate is CSC’s global growth strategy that aligns business development activities and service delivery with significant new business opportunities. With the addition of 8,200 Covansys employees, nearly 6,500 of whom are in India, CSC will more than double its Indian-based resources.
Still focused on customersAs the integration of Covansys and CSC progresses, the companies will remain focused on serving customers with the shared talents of a more diverse and stronger global organization.
