The Army’s Logistics Modernization Program (LMP) supports U.S. troops around the globe. The largest SAP maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) implementation ever undertaken, LMP currently integrates more than 70 Department of Defense (DoD) systems, handles six million items from 50,000 vendors, delivers information to more than one million customers and manages $4.5 billion in inventory.
Expertise Leads to Enhanced Financial Accounting
As prime contractor for this mission-critical program, CSC ensures that LMP not only provides logistical support from factory to foxhole, but also captures financial accounting transactions for the Army’s Working Capital Fund. CSC federal financial management experts supported the successful implementation and integration of the financial and accounting requirements within the LMP solution. In addition to meeting requirements for the Army Working Capital Fund and associated statutory reporting, LMP addresses requirements to manage the usage of appropriated funds for depot and national maintenance programs.
CSC’s LMP solution delivers financial transaction integrity via integrated financial modules. As the financial system of record for deployed Army Materiel Command locations, LMP provides a common, accurate and real-time operating view (both financial and logistical) and delivers a single version of the truth to all users. LMP also provides financial managers with real-time views of key financial information that are used to make daily spending decisions affecting the overall logistic operations of the Army. LMP allows resource management oversight across the manufacturing and remanufacturing programs and tracks performance from a planning and actual cost basis.
Better Compliance with Federal Regulatory Requirements
LMP provides the Army Materiel Command with the financial visibility they need while complying with stringent regulatory requirements. The system was independently assessed as compliant with the Federal Financial Management Improvement Act in 2007.
For fiscal years 2006 and 2007, all of the year-end statements for the U.S. Army Materiel Command Army Working Capital Fund produced from LMP were certified without qualification.
