Fabian Cancellara knows his yellow jersey run will eventually come to an end. With his build and his talent in the individual time trials, the big Swiss time machine can’t get up the steep mountain climbs like the skinny mountain goats. He doesn’t know how many more days he will keep the jersey, but he’s enjoying every moment. “For sure, this will end in the mountains for me, then I will start working for the team,” Cancellara said. “Now I will take it day to day until the climbing stages. Each day I have in yellow is incredibly special for me, but I know it will end.”
