DoD’s JTRS network is evolving as the military’s next generation multi-service radio. In order to support the mobile warfighter, DoD’s goal is to develop a family of digital, software-defined radios that operate as flexible secure nodes.  These systems are intended to bridge the last “tactical mile” while providing an ad hoc networking capability that is envisioned as providing transformational capabilties to the services.
