Rail Control System

Rail Control System (RCS) is an advanced rail traffic management and dispatch software solution that provides a higher level of forecasting accuracy, quickly resolves conflicts and achieves rapid recovery from original plan deviations. The solution provides a complete view of train operations over the whole rail network. RCS automatically calculates the impact (network wide delays) on the complete schedule in the event of schedule changes, incidents or interruptions, so that the optimum corrective action can be taken and operations continued with no or minimum delays.

Our unique algorithm and proven forecasting model tracks simultaneous train journeys and calculates network wide impact of delays optimizing corrective action and minimizing or eliminating delays. RCS generates forecasts for every combination of train and station or signal location in the current inventory.

The use of RCS on Europe’s densest and most widely used railway network has helped the Swiss railway, SBB, achieve a 90 second headway (time between trains) and increased punctuality from 92% to 94%.
