Eagle Alliance, founded as a CSC-Northrop Grumman joint venture, was awarded the 7-year Groundbreaker contract in 2001 by the National Security Agency (NSA). The scope of the contract is to provide secure and nonsecure network and telephony services, distributed computing services, and enterprise and security management of the information technology (IT) infrastructure at NSA headquarters and surrounding offices within a 50-mile radius.

In 2007, Eagle Alliance received a 3-year contract extension, extending the contract through September 2011. In 2009, the Government extended the contract for an additional 3 years, making the contract effective through September 2014.

Groundbreaker is one of the largest ever IT outsourcing efforts of the federal government. With Eagle Alliance providing world-class, innovative technology solutions, NSA has been able to respond more effectively to a rapidly changing mission, improve information assurance, and focus its human resources more on core missions. Eagle Alliance's outstanding customer service continues to be the hallmark of its strategy on the Groundbreaker contract.
