Dr. H. Preston Holley, Jr. Appointed Chief Medical Officer at DynPort Vaccine Company

 

DynPort Vaccine Company (DVC) is pleased to announce that Dr. H. Preston Holley, Jr., has been appointed as Chief Medical Officer. Dr. Holley joined DVC on November 9, 2007, where he is responsible for the management and growth of DVC’s Clinical Research department, in addition to medical oversight of all DVC programs.

“Dr. Holley’s comprehensive experience in clinical research adds great strength to our bench,” said Dr. Robert V. House, DVC president and chief scientific officer. “Clinical Research is an invaluable and growing part of DVC’s core business. Dr. Holley’s leadership in this department will help DVC provide even greater service to our clients in the biopharmaceutical space.”

Dr. Holley has more than 14 years of pharmaceutical experience, where his primary activities have included managing and directing a variety of drug and immune globulin development programs. His experience includes directing clinical trials at all phases of development, writing protocols, serving as medical monitor and evaluating efficacy and safety data. He is board certified in internal medicine and infectious diseases, and has research experience as both an investigator and pharmaceutical director of clinical trials and drug development programs. Dr. Holley has also assisted with numerous regulatory filings and has extensive experience with Phase 2, 3 and 4 clinical studies.

Prior to joining DVC, Dr. Holley served as Senior Director of Clinical Research and Medical Affairs at Nabi Biopharmaceuticals. He has held increasingly responsible positions at Pfizer Global Research & Development, Parke-Davis Pharmaceutical Research and Glaxo Wellcome, Inc. since 1993.

Dr. Holley holds a B.S. from the University of Maryland at College Park, and an M.D. from the University of Maryland School of Medicine. He has authored or co-authored almost 70 journal articles and book chapters. Dr. Holley has held faculty positions, including assistant professorships, at the Medical University of Charleston and a consulting position with the Veterans Administration Medical Center.
