DVC Appoints Linda Dunsmoor as Head of Quality

October 20, 2009 — DynPort Vaccine Company LLC (DVC), a CSC company, has appointed Linda Dunsmoor as Head of Quality. Ms. Dunsmoor will oversee staff responsible for Good Laboratory Practice (GLP), Current Good Manufacturing Practice (CGMP) and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) compliance activities necessary to meet regulatory requirements.  In her new position, Ms. Dunsmoor will serve as a member of DVC’s senior management team.

Ms. Dunsmoor has 23 years experience in the biotechnology field, 19 years in quality systems and 15 years of experience in management.  She joined DVC in 2002 as Product Quality Assurance Manager where she was responsible for the quality management of vaccine production for nonclinical and clinical studies in support of product licensure for multiple vaccine projects.

In 2005 Ms Dunsmoor began managing the Clinical Quality Assurance department responsible for the overall clinical trial quality management of vaccine studies in support of product licensure for multiple vaccine projects, Phases 1 – 3.  Recently she also volunteered to redesign the Document Control department, successfully streamlining document processes, filing and reviews.

Prior to joining DVC, Ms. Dunsmoor worked at Life Technologies/Invitrogen in Frederick, Md. for 13 years.  She started at Life Technologies in 1989 as a Biochemist II in Research and Development.  In 1990, she became a Quality Assurance Specialist, and in 1994 was named Group Leader of Quality Assurance. In 1998 Ms. Dunsmoor was named Manager of Document Systems at Invitrogen, a corporation owned by Life Technologies, and in 2001 was promoted to Director of Quality Systems.

Ms. Dunsmoor holds a B.S. from California University of Pennsylvania, and has experience in quality assurance, document management and regulatory compliance.  She has a successful record in the areas of auditing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, CGMP, GLP and GCP compliance, process design and improvements, technical writing and document management.  Ms. Dunsmoor holds multiple certifications in areas of quality system management.
