DVC Receives P&B53 Award for Second Consecutive Year
Gaithersburg, Md. – The Gazette of Politics and Business released its list of the 53 top businesses and organizations in the State of Maryland. The awards acknowledge the top 53 businesses in Maryland based on criteria including revenue and employee growth, noteworthy innovations and community service efforts, among others.
The second annual awards ceremony, held Sept. 23, 2009 at the Doubletree Hotel in Bethesda, attracted a large crowd of appreciative attendees eager to celebrate the accomplishments of the top 53 companies. A keynote speech by Ed Henry, CNN’s Senior White House Correspondent, sponsored by Comcast Spotlight and Comcast Business Class, preceded dinner and networking activities at the hotel.
“I applaud these exceptional Maryland businesses that are consistently on the leading edge of innovation and doing their part to help through their pro-active community service programs. To make the 53 list is a great accomplishment,” said Cliff Chiet, publisher of The Gazette P&B. DynPort Vaccine Company LLC (DVC), a CSC company, will be profiled in a special section as part of the Sept. 25, 2009 edition of The Gazette of Politics and Business.
DVC was recognized for its exceptional growth during the last three years as well as its community service programs including Operation Christmas Child, and innovation in biopharmaceutical program management. DVC President Dr. Robert V. House said, “At DVC our mission betters society by making us all safer from dangerous pathogens. I am pleased that our employees have seen fit to contribute through community service efforts as well. It is truly the people here that make DVC a great place to work.”
DVC Associate Director of Communications April Finnen accepted the award on behalf of DVC. “I was proud to accept this award on behalf of all DVC employees, whose generosity and dedication make it possible for us to excel in all of these areas,” said Finnen.
